Thoughtful Thursday
So it's been a while since I wrote one of these. I've been busy.
Training.
This summer I made a decision to spend my best brain time training my dogs. This means that from 0800 to noon (or usually later) I am out training dogs.
I don't answer the phone, unless the husband calls.
I try not to check my email.
I try to stay off social media.
Four hours, five to six times a week, training my dogs. AND training dogs with some of the best training buddies.
Everyone comes with a plan, we troubleshoot together. We hold each other accountable. We work progression plans out on the fly and adapt to where the dogs are at today.
Not only are we training the dogs in front of us, we are coaching the
humans too. We are working on mechanics, play, progression plans, and engagement.
We are working to be more engaging than the two pet pigeons in the training space. We are cycling through thirteen dogs (each getting between one to three sessions) in that training space. It keeps us focused on what we are training and makes sure we step up with a plan in mind.
We are also making our session short.
